Long before Susan Gugliotta became an accountant and business advisor, she wanted to be a teacher.

Her path changed when she discovered accounting—but the heart of that early dream never left her. For decades, Susan has combined her love of numbers with her natural ability to teach, solve problems, and help business owners see what they cannot always see for themselves.

After more than 30 years working in accounting and private industry, Susan started her own firm in 2015. She initially focused on helping business owners create accurate financial statements, understand what their numbers were telling them, and make better-informed decisions.

But as she worked more closely with successful business owners, Susan discovered a hidden problem almost nobody was talking about.

Many profitable, well-established businesses were dangerously dependent on their owners.

The owner held the most important knowledge. Employees relied on her for decisions. Clients expected her personal involvement. Processes lived in her head. Even when the financial statements looked healthy, the business remained vulnerable because too much depended on one person.
